Pre-Press & Design
Computing Horsepower
The design phase is one of the most important stages in the process. To make sure we get consistent, clean design, we employ the latest in computing technology. Our design team are predominantly Mac-based, running high end machines alongside our dedicated prepress workstations.
Agfa Apogee Prepress Server
Once your job is ready for print, it needs to be laid out for the CTP system (below). To do this, we use the industry standard 'Apogee PrePress' from Agfa. This helps us check your artwork for inconsistencies and ensures your job is imposed perfectly for the print process.
'Agfa Acento II S' CTP System
We have just installed a new, cutting-edge CTP (Computer To Plate) system to produce our metal plates. The lithographic printing process requires ink to be transferred from these metal plates onto paper. This new addition allows us to produce even higher resolution work and now means we no longer use harmful chemicals when producing plates!
Komori K-Station
When we send a job to the press, our integrated K-Station software transmits the CIP4/PPF colour and job control data to the Komori presses. This valuable software ensures that colour accuracy is achieved when going from computer to press.Print Equipment
Komori L528 Press
Our large Komori press is the machine that produces most of our large-scale jobs. Its colour accuracy and combined speed comes at a price - its sheer size! It has five colour units and can print up to 15,000 sheets per hour. This machine is in continuous use all day every day.
Xerox Versant 180 Digital Colour Press
Our brand new Xerox Versant 180 is the latest in digital press technology and outshines the litho presses when it comes to urgency. Our machine now includes an in-line finisher which can fold, staple and hole-punch, essentially giving our customers instant booklets. Pretty amazing!
Heidelberg GTO52 Press
Our Heidelberg GTO52 press is used for smaller single colour runs. Like the Komori presses, it uses metal plates to press the image onto paper. A valuable asset of the GTO52 is its ability to fire out jobs such as envelopes at a blistering speed.
Large Format Printer - Indoor or outdoor!
Our brand new Epson SureColor SC-S80600 large format printer is the latest in large-format technology. We are now able to produce outdoor banners and durable vinyl prints. On top of this, with our brand new cutting machine, we can produce bespoke cutout stickers - almost any shape and size! With up to 10 colours, including white, we can produce the most jaw-dropping, vivid prints you could ever imagine.
HP DesignJet Z6800 60" Printer
Our HP DesignJet Z6800 60" printer allows us to print up to 1.5 metres wide and virtually unlimited length. This machine uses instant dry inks - perfect for those urgent jobs! Capable of stunning prints which are vivid and sharp.

Booklet Machine
Our booklet machine creates booklets at very high speeds. The individual sheets are collated, stitched, folded and trimmed to the finished size. As well as producing perfect booklets, this also saves valuable time, which can be crucial when our customers have a deadline!
Folding Machine - Horizon Buckle Folder
Another essential piece of technology is our brand new, fully automated folding machine, which folds the sheets to finished size. It is ideal for producing simple and complex folds.
Morgana DigiFold Pro
The latest addition to our arsenal is the Morgana DigiFold Pro, the World's first integrated creasing and folding machine. The system is a totally new technology to finish even the most sensitive of materials. It handles output from digital colour printing systems and heavy cross-grained stocks printed by conventional litho. It addresses the common issue of 'cracking' where printed material begins to flake and crack along the folded edges. We are able to produce clean, sharp edges, which really do make a difference to the finished product.
Morgana FSN Machine
This is our high-speed numbering and perforating machine. The sheet spacing system uses electronic pulses to feed the paper and the bottom feed, top leading operation allows non-stop production.
Industrial Guillotines
We have two industrial-strength guillotines for cutting the sheets down to the final job. The guillotines cut with absolute precision. We have recently upgraded to the latest in guillotine tehcnology - the Polar 92X. This beauty can cut through massive stacks of paper in split-seconds, making sure your deadlines are met.
Stitching Machine
Any perforated NCR books that we produce need to be stitched together with our stitching machine.
Laminators
Laminating or encapsulating your printed work can increase its lifespan. This is perfect for business cards or posters that will be used in high traffic areas or outside. Out latest laminator is capable of laminating up to 1 metre wide and up to any length. We can use a Matt, Gloss or even a 'sparkle' finish.
